Spoonflower Design Challenge

Update - I placed 340 out 1,004 entries in last week’s Wild Grasses challenge… which if I’m honest, is rather upsetting because I truly thought my Praying Mantis design was top 60 worthy. Ah well, you can’t win them all… or any of them yet!

This week’s challenge is “Intergalactic Adventures” which sounds fun but literally the only thing I could think to draw was references to the Beastie Boy’s Intergalactic Planetary music video. RIP MCA.

Anyway, for obvious reasons, I can’t just rip off a 90’s rap video and present it as my own work, so I was blocked.

And blocked.

And blocked.

Ultimately, I decided I should submit SOMETHING so I put this pretty print together. I’ll be the first tp admit it works better as a portrait rather than a pattern, but at least the pattern isn’t terrible.
